Clos Montblanc

About

The Clos Montblanc winery is located in Barbera de la Conca, very close to two symbolic locations in the history of Catalonia, the fortified town of Montblanc and the Monastery of Poblet. It is an area steeped in history and tradition. Here the Cistercian monks settled, nearly a thousand years ago, with their firm goal of finding the way to perfection. Their ethos survives in the hearts of the local people today and can be seen in the way in which they go about their daily work.

From a geological point of view, it is an area with a rich, well-balanced soil which is grey and limey, full of variations, and has the optimum natural qualities for viniculture. The essence of the Clos Mont Blanc cellar is a pride in the land to which it belongs and a working system based on a thousand-year-old tradition. Clos Mont-Blanc creates wines which have a unique character, nature and sensitivity of their very own.

Clos Mont-Blanc wines obtain their character from indigenous varieties such as Tempranillo or Grenache, together with foreign grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah, in a symbiosis of character and added personality. The white wines blend traditional Macabeo from Spain with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, ensuring the mix is exactly the right balance.
