More and more places are beginning to open
The last few months have been most peculiar for all of us, regardless of the industry. In the last couple of months, a large percentage of our customers have been completely shut or operating in a completely new way. Yet, some of our customers have been able to continue to provide their customers with wine – and we continued to supply them. In fact, some independent retailers, online shops and takeaway services have been busier than ever.
At the beginning of July, more and more hospitality businesses were allowed to re-open and it is great to see that things are starting to get moving and more of our friends are returning back from furlough, opening up again with renewed enthusiasm and reporting good levels of business and customer confidence.
Improved operations
Over the last couple of months, we took time to review and improve on all our processes. Where required – changes were implemented and efficiencies made. A new warehouse management system is in development stages and should be up and running for September.
We have helped some of our customers with disposable or contactless wine lists to help with new protocol and we are all ready with new ways of seeing our customers using ZOOM (we wish we’d bought shares in January) so that we can adhere to social distancing whilst still keeping in contact.
All our customers are now set up to use our online order system which makes ordering online the best and most efficient way to place your orders:
- It is quick and easy to use
- Available 24/7
- Available on your phone, tablet, computer or laptop.
- Gives us access to all your previous orders – making re-ordering super easy.
- Provides you with confirmation of your order for peace of mind.
If you haven’t been provided with your username and password then please contact us and we will be able to give you this.
We still managed to add new products
We have been in constant contact with our suppliers worldwide to ensure that we have good stocks as we re-open and over the next crucial trading period. We also have some exciting new wines and products:
- Ambassadeur – a new rosé from Provence boasting a modern-looking label.
- Eguren Ugarte Reserva Blanco – aged in French oak barrels this viura and grenache blanc blend has quickly become a favourite amongst the EWGA staff! Hurry if you want some – as the winery only made 6000 bottles in total.
- New Zensa Wines – 100% organic wines from Puglia in Italy.
- Bowness Bay Brewing – exciting handcrafted beers straight out of the Lake District.
Get in touch with your account representative if you are interested in these wines.
We are very optimistic about the period ahead and send our best wishes to you for good trading for the rest of the year.
